Getting started

What BUND is and how to begin

BUND is a made-to-measure tailoring house with eight bundclubs in Spain and a presence in Mexico. We take more than 35 body measurements, cut the pattern from them and guide you through every design decision, from the cloth to the last button.

We work in two formats: Timeless, ten merino-wool suits at a fixed price from €399, and made-to-measure (MTM), with the full fabric book and every customisation included, from €499.

An off-the-rack suit is built on generic patterns that rarely match your real anatomy. Ours is cut from your measurements: shoulders, torso, posture. The result is a visibly better fit, more comfort and a silhouette that flatters you.

And you decide: cloth, lapel, pockets, lining, buttons. It is not a standard size taken in; it is a suit cut for you.

  1. Book your free measuring and design appointment (45 minutes) at your nearest bundclub.
  2. We measure, you design. We take your measurements and you choose cloth, lapel, pockets, lining and details with your advisor.
  3. We make your garment. Between 4 and 8 weeks depending on the format you choose.
  4. In-store fitting (30 minutes). You try it on, we adjust whatever is needed and you take it home. One or two fittings is usually all it takes.

Book an appointment

Not at all. Your advisor guides every decision: which cloth suits the occasion, which lapel flatters your build, what goes with what. You bring the idea (or not even that) and we bring the craft.

You can design your garment on the website (menu › Design your garment) to see how it would look and arrive at your appointment with clear ideas. Measurements, however, are always taken in person at a bundclub: that is what guarantees the fit.

What you can buy fully online are accessories, delivered in 24-48 working hours, and casual made-to-order pieces, which we ship to your door.

Timeless and made-to-measure

Two ways to have a suit made

Ten made-to-measure suits in merino wool with the cloth always in stock. The range does not rotate by season: the cloth you choose today will still be available whenever you want to repeat it. We cut the pattern from your measurements and build it with the house construction.

You pick the cloth and fit the garment to your body: lapel type and width, pockets and fit; waist, turn-ups and fit on the trousers. The rest of the design is decided for you, which is why the price is fixed and the appointment shorter.

Ideal for the office, everyday wear and events as a guest. See Timeless

Both are garments cut from your measurements. The difference is how much you get to decide.

  • Timeless: choose from ten merino-wool cloths always in stock and adjust lapel, pockets, fit, waist and turn-ups. Fixed price: €399 for two pieces, €529 for three.
  • MTM: the full fabric book and a garment customised from start to finish: lining, buttons, initials, construction, ticket pocket, side adjusters…

For the office and everyday wear, or if you have several weddings as a guest, Timeless is more than enough. For your own wedding we always work in MTM.

At BUND we work Made to Measure: we take your exact measurements and adapt the pattern to your body. It is not a standard size taken in; it is a suit cut specifically for you.

Bespoke drafts a unique paper pattern from scratch, which makes the process far more expensive. MTM delivers an excellent fit and lets you customise every detail (lapels, buttons, linings, pockets, cloth) at a much more accessible price.

Construction is what you do not see: the canvas that shapes the chest and lapel. We offer three levels so you choose the degree of craft.

Fused · included in the priceThe interlining is heat-bonded to the cloth. The base construction of all our jackets.
Half-canvas · +€150Canvas hand-stitched from the shoulders to mid-jacket. Better structure and drape on chest and lapel, more comfortable and longer-lasting.
Full-canvas · +€250Canvas hand-stitched down the whole front. The best drape, shape, breathability and longevity. The most artisanal option.

We also make an unstructured jacket (+€180), lighter and more relaxed.

  • Made-to-measure (by appointment): suits and morning suits for grooms, best men and guests; suits for the office, everyday and events; tuxedos; jackets, trousers, waistcoats, shirts and overcoats.
  • Casual made to order: linen and cotton shirts, safari jackets, chinos, jeans, supima cotton T-shirts, jackets and overcoats.
  • Ready-to-wear by size: availability depends on stock on the website.
  • Accessories: ties, tailoring braces, cufflinks (also personalised), linen pocket squares made in Como, collar stays, socks, belts and shoes.

We do not make frock coats or cravats.

In Timeless we do not sell single garments, but you can add a second pair of trousers to the same suit: the best way to extend its life.

In MTM we do make single garments: jackets, trousers, waistcoats (€159) or shirts (from €89).

It is a fixed price: every design customisation is included. Double-breasted jacket, double pick-stitching, turn-ups, initials or inner embroidery, kissing buttons, lapel of your choice, shirt shoulders, side adjusters, double-breasted waistcoat, ticket pocket… The price you see is the price you pay.

The only extras are the advanced configuration: inner construction (half-canvas +€150, full-canvas +€250, unstructured +€180), special linings, special buttons, Milanese or hand-sewn buttonhole and a waistcoat back in the same cloth. Your advisor confirms the amount at your appointment.

For Timeless, extra-large measurements carry a supplement, confirmed in store.

Credit and debit cards, both on the website (secure platform, SSL-encrypted) and in our bundclubs. In store we also accept cash.

We do not offer financing. Payment is made in full when you place the order; the production lead time starts counting from that moment.

Yes. You can buy the BUND gift card on the website: the perfect gift for someone about to have their first made-to-measure suit.

Your appointment

Before, during and after

We have eight bundclubs in Spain: Madrid, Seville, Málaga, Barcelona, Bilbao, Murcia, Zaragoza and Valencia. We also run touring appointments in Mallorca and Valladolid, and in Mexico you will find us in Mexico City and Monterrey.

They are all upper-floor spaces with one-to-one attention, always by appointment. Choose your bundclub and book your appointment online in a minute.

Measuring and design45 minutes
Information45 minutes
Fitting30 minutes

The fitting is scheduled once your garments are ready: we email you so you can pick a time.

No. The appointment is free. If you are still thinking it over, book an information appointment: we look at cloths, answer your questions and point you in the right direction, no rush.

  • Measuring and design: come as you like. When we measure you should be in a T-shirt, shirt or polo, so clothing adds no bulk and the measurements are accurate.
  • Fitting: if you have not ordered a shirt from us, bring one similar to what you will wear on the day, plus the shoes you plan to wear. That way we set trouser and sleeve length perfectly.

Of course: you can bring up to three people. We love it when you come with whoever helps you decide.

If one of them also wants to be measured for a suit, they should book the following slot so we can give them the time and attention they deserve.

One or two fittings is usually all it takes. Our aim is a perfect suit without wasting your time.

As a rule, Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 21:00. Hours may vary by store: when booking you will see the real availability at your bundclub.

Yes. When you book you receive a confirmation email with options to reschedule or cancel. If you cannot make it, we appreciate you freeing the slot for another client.

Measurements and fit

The Perfect Fit Guarantee

Our team specialises in made-to-measure pattern-making. We take more than 35 measurements to build a pattern that follows your real anatomy, including posture, shoulder slope and build. And we check it on you at the fitting, before you take the garment home.

That is what the fitting is for: you try it on in store and we adjust whatever is needed, at no cost. It is our Perfect Fit Guarantee and it applies to every BUND made-to-measure garment.

See the details in our returns and alterations policy.

Do not worry. The Perfect Fit Guarantee covers it at no extra cost: if your body changes between ordering and the event, we adjust the suit so it fits impeccably.

Our garments carry seam allowance in the key areas (waist, hip and chest), allowing adjustments of 2-3 centimetres either way.

Yes. After your first order, your measurements are stored securely. Every order after that is quicker: we already know your body and your preferences.

Your measurements are in your client area, under “My measurements”. For any change, write to support@bundcompany.com and we will update your profile before your next order.

06

Cloth and customisation

What you get to choose

In MTM, practically everything: cloth, lapel type and width (peak, notch or shawl), single or double-breasted, pockets, lining, buttons, pick-stitching, lapel buttonhole, initials or inner embroidery, trouser turn-ups, waistband… And all those design decisions are included in the price.

You can preview any combination on the website, under menu › Design your garment.

We work with wool, linen, cotton, cashmere and blends. Our cloth houses:

  • BUND Basics: our own house, available in every bundclub.
  • Vitale Barberis Canonico: the historic Italian mill.
  • Drapers: a highly prestigious mill.
  • Loro Piana: the most exclusive cloth house in the world.

Madrid and Barcelona carry the widest selection of premium bunches. At your appointment you can see and touch every cloth available.

The “Super” number indicates how fine the wool yarn is: the higher it is, the finer, silkier and lighter the cloth, and the more elegant its drape. The trade-off is that very high supers crease more and are more delicate.

For a suit you will wear often, Super 100s-130s gives the best balance of handle, durability and crease resistance. Higher supers shine in occasion suits. Your advisor will guide you according to use and climate.

No. We work exclusively with our own cloths so we can guarantee the quality and final result of every garment.

Our catalogue of options is broad and we keep expanding it. If you have a special request, mention it at your appointment or write to support@bundcompany.com and we will see whether we can make it happen.

Our suits are made at our production workshop in Shanghai, under the direct supervision of our team. The cloths come from the finest mills. Design, digital pattern-making and client service are handled entirely from Spain.

Weddings and ceremony

Grooms, best men and guests

Book your appointment at least three months before the wedding. MTM for grooms takes eight weeks from the paid order, and you will want room for fittings and a final adjustment close to the date.

If traditional MTM will not make it, there are two routes delivered in four weeks: Express Service (our accelerated MTM, with a supplement) or the seasonal collection. Write to us or book as soon as you can: weeks count from the paid order.

Timeless is designed for the office, everyday wear and events as a guest. For your own wedding we always work in MTM: it is the day to choose every detail, from cloth to lining, initials or construction.

Suits and morning suits for grooms, best men and guests, tuxedos, two- and three-piece ceremony suits, double-breasted, and linen for beach or countryside weddings. All customisable: cloth, colour, lapel, waistcoat, lining, inner embroidery…

To dig into what fits your wedding (religious or civil, morning or evening, city, countryside or beach), book an information appointment. See BUND for weddings

No problem: we dress the whole group in the same cloth and design, each to their own measurements. We do not apply group discounts, because each suit requires the same individual process of measuring, design and making.

Each person needs their own appointment; if you are coming together, book consecutive slots.

It is very common, and it is covered. The Perfect Fit Guarantee includes, at no cost, any adjustment needed if your body changes between ordering and the event. We recommend scheduling the final fitting as close to the date as possible.

09

Etiquette and style

What you ask us most at appointments

No. Marrying in a two-piece or a double-breasted suit is perfectly correct, and it is not “less” than a morning suit. What makes the groom stand out is not the garment: it is the quality of the cloth, the construction and how it fits.

At BUND we do not preach doctrine. All we ask of an outfit is harmony and that it suits the context: type of ceremony, time and place.

Yes, no justification needed. As a guide:

  • Groom in a morning suit: best men in a morning suit or a dark three-piece or double-breasted suit; guests in a suit.
  • Groom in a suit: best men in a similar suit, or a morning suit if they prefer.
  • Groom in a tuxedo: ideally the best men wear one too; guests are free to choose.

The tuxedo was born as an evening social garment, so classic etiquette reserves it for night. But etiquette is there to be flexed: if you love it and it elevates your day, go ahead. Bear in mind it is most coherent if your best men wear one too, and avoid it for daytime weddings.

A morning suit is, literally, a suit for the morning: hence the historic rule of wearing it by day. In Spain etiquette has relaxed with afternoon weddings.

Light grey does have a technical reason: under artificial light and camera flashes, light, silky cloths “light up” and look silvery. For an evening wedding, dark tones and textured cloths such as herringbone, which kill the shine, work better.

The lapel should be in proportion to your body, not to fashion. Our reference is the two-thirds rule: the lapel should cover about two thirds of the distance between collar and shoulder. On most bodies that means between 9 and 11.5 cm.

Too narrow a lapel thins out and unbalances the jacket. If you bring a reference photo, perfect: we use it to capture the look and adapt it to your build.

Not necessarily: what it needs is harmony. If the whole outfit is light, go for soft accessories; if it is intense, intense ones. Mixing intensities is what breaks the balance.

And a dark tie is not sad: black, charcoal or midnight blue, with a white or sky-blue shirt over a dark outfit, is elegance at its peak. The whole look wins, not the detail.

  • Morning suit and formal suit: black Oxford. Very dark burgundy or very dark chocolate, depending on the suit.
  • Linen and summer weddings: espadrille or suede loafer.
  • Tuxedo: slipper, opera pump or patent Oxford.

Best to avoid light brown, rubber soles and anything with a sporty feel.

Yes, but keep it discreet: a slim case that slips under the shirt cuff without bulk, on a leather strap. Better to leave the smartwatch and the steel sports watch at home.

It is part of its nature, not a flaw: if it does not crease, it is not linen. You have two routes: embrace the crease, a sign of authentic cloth, or press it damp to smooth it out. Wool, silk and linen blends crease far less than 100% linen.

Linen or cotton for the heat? Linen breathes better; cotton is softer against the skin. If you run hot, linen.

10

Caring for your garments

So it lasts for years

  • Brush it gently with a clothes brush after each wear.
  • Let it rest at least 24 hours between wears so the fibres recover their shape.
  • Always hang it on a wide wooden hanger that respects the shape of the shoulders.
  • If it creases, use steam; never an iron straight on the cloth. A good steamer is the best investment.
  • Never put it in the washing machine: natural cloths such as wool cannot take it.

Somewhere ventilated, inside a breathable garment bag and never in plastic, which stops the cloth breathing. Avoid wire hangers and leave room in the wardrobe so the garment is not squashed.

Less than you think: only when it is really needed. Too much dry-cleaning damages the fibres and shortens the life of the suit. Between cleans, brushing, airing for a few hours and steam for light creases are enough. And when the time comes, choose a trusted cleaner that presses by hand.

Act quickly: press a damp cloth gently on the area, without rubbing. For stubborn stains, go to a professional dry-cleaner. Never apply harsh products straight onto the cloth.

Fold the jacket inside out, one shoulder tucked into the other, and lay it flat on top of your suitcase; or use a garment bag. On arrival, hang it and let the creases drop out naturally, or give it a touch of steam.

Well cared for, many years. Three things matter: the cloth, rotation (do not wear it two days running) and the construction. For maximum longevity, half-canvas and full-canvas constructions, with hand-stitched canvas, drape better and age better. And a second pair of trousers practically doubles the life of the suit.
